Rest before you need to


​​I’ve been able to accomplish a lot in my business because I create even when I don’t feel like it — I work on a regular rhythm. (And I honestly don’t feel like it most of the time.)

Similarly, I’ve learned to rest myself before I’m tired… to rest on a regular rhythm, whether or not I feel like it.

Oftentimes, we let relatively minor circumstances, like being a little tired or feeling like watching videos, get in the way of keeping our commitments to ourselves, i.e. doing the right thing.

There are 2 Ways to Manage Time

  1. Deadline Method — Work by project deadlines: Meet the closest deadlines. Work all night if you have to, or postpone/cancel other commitments or projects as needed to meet the most urgent and important deadlines.
  2. Scheduling Method — Schedule recurring chunks of time to work on various projects. Stick to those time slots. The projects simply get done whenever they get done. Or, if there’s a due date for something, you’ll learn to work faster within those time blocks.
