Ask YourSelf Questions That Matter, More Frequently

Picture

Here's a simple method to solve more problems, in any area of your life:

Ask yourself questions (that matter) more frequently.

What are the problems you want to solve in your life?

A few examples that might be relevant to you:
  • "How can my day be better managed?"
  • "How can my work be done with greater joy?"
  • "What offering is a good balance between my interests and the market's wants?"
  • "What really moves my business forward?"
  • "How can I be more effective for my clients?"
  • "What's something my ideal clients need from me right now?"
  • "What can I do to fulfill my life’s purpose?"

It’s questions that don’t always have immediate answers.

But if you are willing to just ask yourself (or your higher Self) the question... then wait (just go about doing whatever you were doing)... something brilliant will eventually emerge...

There are many times in your day or week that can be useful to do this kind of inquisitive "meditation", or introspection. It's anytime that your brain doesn't need to be consciously focused.

Examples:

  • When doing mindless chores (dishes, cleaning, etc.)
  • When you're taking a walk
  • When you're on public transit
  • When you're in the shower
  • When you're stream-of-consciousness journaling

These can be great times for you to ask questions that matter to you.

Then, as you continue doing that (mindless) physical activity, your subconscious mind will be working for you, reflecting on that question, in the background of your consciousness.

You might not even be aware that you're thinking about the question... but because you've asked it, your mind is actually working on your behalf, below the level of your awareness.

In other words, you have to practice being OK not getting the answer right away.

Trust that your subconscious mind (or one might say, Spirit) is working on the question for you.

Be willing to be surprised by *when* (and in what form) the answer will come.

Another way to pose the question is using a statement:
  • "One possibility for fulfilling my life purpose more effectively is ________"
  • "Here's one way for me to work more joyfully: ________"
  • "One thing I can do to make my spouse happier is: _________"
(The ___blank___ is the "assignment" you give to your subconscious mind to work on, while you go on doing your mindless chores.)

Give this method a try. I'd love to know how it helps you.
