When you feel stuck, it's because your perspective has gotten stuck.
When you're stuck, you don’t have the mental and emotional energy in that moment to figure a way through. Stay stuck and you'll be in danger of spiraling into negativity.
Yet, you can make progress on any problem if you were tapped into your creativity and persistence.
This is why the most foundational practice I have at work is not how I manage my time, knowledge, or the tools in my business... it's how I "reboot" my energy throughout the day, to get unstuck at anytime.
It takes less than a minute, and makes a real difference.
I'll explain my Energy Reboot process in this post.
Today, your work, your tasks, are not your top priority.
Your state is your top priority.
How are you being, as you go about your tasks and your work?
Are you harried, anxious, struggling, and “just want to get it done”?
The quality of your work tends to match the quality of your being.
“Tell me about your goals.”
“Well… I want a business beyond my wildest dreams… doesn’t everyone?!”
In her voice, a slight tinge of desperation… an unspoken “I refuse be happy until I get there.”
When I started my business, I was also uber-focused on external success. Becoming a millionaire, having a guru online presence, etc.
And then I burned out. I came to see that prioritizing the externals tends to decay the internals… bringing stress, forever grasping, lack of deep fulfillment, etc.
Today, I wish to be average in external metrics, yet lead from the inner qualities.
In a sea of business coaches and marketing experts who all clamor for seven-figure incomes and million-follower fame, I now focus on 3 different things…
Which experts, personalities, and “influencers” do you follow? Whether you are aware of it or not, they are shaping your definition of success.
As you observe what they are pursuing, it automatically influences your beliefs of what is important to pursue.
Notice the imagery in their content (lifestyles of the rich and famous?), notice what they celebrate and point out to you, and notice the style they exhibit.
In this moment, question the direction of growth that they are encouraging you toward...
Recently celebrated my 40th birthday :)
As I reflect on everything I've posted online ... status updates, articles, videos ... there are specific pieces I find myself recommending more often. I'm proud to present to you my best 40 postings, ever. (It's my opinion... you can let me know what you think!)
The topics include:
Joyful Productivity -- how to be organized, productive, inspired (even "spiritual") as we work, and to have a healthy balance with non-productivity.
Authentic Marketing -- how to attract new clients and grow your brand, based on actions that arise from deep integrity and generous service.
Healthy Money -- tips and tools on how to relate to money in a healthy, wise, sustainable way.
Spiritual Living -- some thoughts on what it means to be a spiritual being having a human experience.
Some are articles, others are videos. Some of these are short, others are longer. All are intended to uplift and serve you. I look forward to hearing how it benefits you. Enjoy my best 40...
